Greeting from the DE&I Committee Chair

The Panhellenic DE&I committee is driven by the desire to celebrate what makes each of us unique and embrace the incredible diversity here at UNC. We’re passionate about creating a space where every difference is not only acknowledged, but truly respected and appreciated.

Our goal is to grow a vibrant, inclusive environment where each member's experiences and strengths are cherished, thereby creating a safe space where personal growth and friendships flourish. We work alongside the Panhellenic Executive Council to continuously improve our community for the betterment of all members. By collaborating with various campus groups, organizing philanthropic outreach events, and offering ongoing training sessions, we’re committed to fostering a future rooted in mutual respect and acceptance.

Our committee members are dedicated, involved individuals who represent all chapters and come from vastly different backgrounds. We want to challenge the way we think and talk about DE&I, understanding we must be empathetic and responsive to others to promote positive change. Education and consciousness-raising efforts in the Panhellenic community will have lasting, long-term impacts on the larger Carolina community.

Above all, we want every student looking to join our Panhellenic family to feel like they belong here. If a member ever experiences anything that feels unfair or unwelcoming, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Your voice is important, and we’re always here to listen and take action if needed.

Our mission is to make Panhellenic an inclusive environment that feels like home for everyone, and it is our utmost priority to achieve these goals through thoughtful education and initiative.

Kendall Beason, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee Chair

THE unc panhellenic council is committed to creating a more inclusive environment for all.

The UNC Panhellenic Council is devoted to creating a more welcoming and inclusive Panhellenic community. We recognize historically our organization and our chapters have been comprised of almost exclusively white women. This committee will address the racial, economic, and social injustices, and the overall lack of diversity, in our community. This committee acts as an extension of the Panhellenic Executive Board and will empower Panhellenic women.
