“I am beyond excited and honored to serve as President of UNC Panhellenic this year. Coming to Carolina from a small town and knowing no one, Panhellenic recruitment was the first place I found a genuine sense of belonging, confidence, and community. Serving on Panhel allows me to give back to the organization that shaped my college experience while continuing to foster an inclusive, empowering environment for every woman involved. I’m most excited to lead and work alongside this incredible council to ensure each woman finds her home at Carolina.”

VP Standards: Hailey Shapiro

Hailey is a sophomore double-majoring in Political Science and Media and Journalism. Outside of academics, she enjoys staying actively involved through a variety of extracurricular activities! Some activities include being the co-founder of the Grata Connects Policy Lab, a student-led organization focused on turning research into meaningful, community-driven policy solutions, and writing for the Carolina Political Review. Additionally, she works as a Digital Marketing Assistant at the Carolina Center for Public Service! In her free time, she loves to do yoga and hang out with her friends. Here’s what Hailey has to say about being VP Standards:

“I am so excited to serve as Panhel's VP of Standards this year! Coming to Carolina as an out-of-state student was extremely nerve-wracking, but the Panhellenic community provided a comforting and safe space for me as Chapel Hill became my home away from home. I have been introduced to my best friends, and some of the most hardworking and incredible women I know, and I feel so extremely lucky to be representing our Panhellenic community!”

Amelia is a junior majoring in Biology and minoring in both Chemistry and Religious Studies. Outside of school, Amelia is also part of Delta Delta Sigma, the Pre-Dental Honor Society! Here’s what she writes about being this year’s VP Recruitment:

“When I went through Primary Recruitment my Freshman year, I was looking for lifelong friends and future bridesmaids. As it turns out, I found that and so much more. This community has given me so many opportunities and amazing experiences, one of which is the blessing to serve on UNC's Panhellenic Council! As Vice President of Recruitment, my goal is to create an authentic and rewarding recruitment process so that every Potential New Member finds where they belong and are supported, as so many of us have. VP Communications: Lilly Norton

Lilly is a sophomore majoring in Media and Journalism with a focus on advertising and public relations. Here’s what she has to say about her position as VP Communications:

“ I remember going through Primary Recruitment as a Freshman, excited for the possibility to join a group of girls who would help make Chapel Hill feel like home. Being part of Greek life has played a crucial role in my experience here at Carolina, and when the opportunity arose for me to apply for the UNC Panhellenic Council, all I could think of was how I wanted to give back to the community that has given me so much. As Vice President of Communications, I hope to offer the same guidance given to me to incoming PNMs, in order to help each girl feel seen, heard, and valued as they go through the recruitment process. I am so grateful for this opportunity to work alongside such empowering women, who uplift and push one another to help make UNC Panhellenic the best it can possibly be!”

VP Campus Outreach: Emma Key

Emma is a junior double-majoring in Economics and Public Policy. Some of Emma’s most memorable college experiences, thus far, have been studying abroad in Croatia, through the Economics department, and being able to serve as an Undergraduate Learning Assistant for ECON 101 and ECON 410 for two years. Before joining the UNC Panhellenic executive council, Emma was on the Community, Engagement, and Belonging Committee for two semesters! Here’s what Emma has to say about being VP Campus Outreach:

“I am beyond honored to be serving as Vice President of Community Outreach & Development, as well as Chair of Panhel's Community, Engagement, and Belonging Committee! Joining Panhellenic as a sophomore introduced me to a remarkable community of driven, compassionate, and empowering women who inspire me to become the best version of myself. In my role, I am excited to amplify Panhellenic's values through improving the spaces we inhabit and fostering meaningful connections across organizations. I strive to lead with openness and intention – listening, learning, and advocating for others, even when experiences differ from my own! I cannot wait to see all that this year has in store, and I would love to connect with anyone who has questions or simply wants to chat!”
